Description

An elegant yet comfortably casual GULF-FRONT house that sleeps up to six persons and offers large windows and a cool breeze all day!

This extraordinary and modern three-bedroom house comes fully furnished. Enjoy the large, elegant kitchen, equipped with everything you need or want in a vacation home. (including a blender for all your tropical cocktails.) The walls of the home are covered in contemporary art and Mexican artisan artifacts collected by the owners from Campeche and Yucatán.

Enjoy the sunrise, ocean, pulpo fisherman and pelicans right from your bed! The two master bedrooms have direct pool access and face the Gulf of Mexico. Each is furnished with a king bed, lovely linens, air conditioning (if needed) and a sizable and modern en-suite bathroom with shower. The large windows throughout the house allow for excellent cross-ventilation. This vacation home also has a third sleeping area with private french doors and is outfitted with a matrimonial bed - perfect for two children or a single adult.

Unlike most houses in the area, this house has an amazing entertainment/living space, floors decorated with authentic pasta tiles, a large seating area and a 50-inch television. (Both master bedrooms have television screens ready to accept your Netflix/Amazon Fire Stick so don’t forget to bring it along!) The American owners of the house are self-described “travel snobs” and have created an environment that exudes carefree luxury.

The house has an enhanced outdoor space featuring a beautiful private pool, a palapa platform with an unobstructed view of the Gulf of Mexico and wide concrete steps leading directly to the beach. Attractive and comfortable outdoor furniture, an outdoor dining table that seats 8, a charcoal barbeque grill and lounge chairs complete the outdoor experience.

The house has an ideal location and is just a few miles west of Chelem and approximately 8 miles from the bustling, fun, and foody town of Progreso. DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS GULF-FRONT BEAUTY!

Oh my goodness! Where do I start! First of all Joie and Keith are super amazing!!!. (They are the owners of the property). The caretakers of the property were also amazing.!!!! I have to say that this is the best vacation we’ve ever had. We’ve been to a lot of Airbnb’s, a lot of different locations. We honestly had the best time ever! Best experience ever!. This home has absolutely everything you need and more!.! First of all.. it’s so very clean…you don’t need the air conditioning…we just use the fans. It’s right on the ocean, with beautiful sand in the yard and beach. We seen the pictures online and it was absolutely beautiful. But when we got there, we were so surprised how much more beautiful it actually was. The two main bedrooms have patio doors which lead out to the pool. Wake up in the morning and go swimming right from your bedroom, how awesome is that?! And the pool is so clean!!! Super comfortable beds! So very nicely decorated. Let’s talk about the kitchen. Huge! 2 fridges … we used one for drinks and one for food. The kitchen has absolutely everything you need!. The gas stove cooked so well. The oven is spectacular. Did I mention that Keith and Jodie the owners of the house are amazing?!!!! ;) Incredible!!! We truly did not want to leave this property. In fact we spent 90% of our time on the property…we just went out for groceries. . I wanted to stay forever. We really felt at home here, there is a very warm feeling within this house, it feels like it hugging you. That’s the only way I can describe it. filled with paintings of puppies. I am a huge, dog lover, , I felt their warmth for the love of dogs as well. My man and I wrote Jodie and Keith immediately after only staying there for a couple of days, and asked if we could rent it for approximately six months. We felt as though this was our home. That’s how much we loved it here. We are not ones to go back to the same location, we always love to experience new Airbnb‘s. But I have to tell you that this will be our new vacation home as long as it’s available. Seriously! Just booked this place and you will not be disappointed! It is spectacular. !!!!! The very very best!!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Great house, right on the beach. Ideal for one or two couples. Cool build out and nice touches throughout. Feels like a mini-compound. Management is great. Found Pamela, Karen and Erik all to be fantastic.

We absolutely LOVED this home! It’s more beautiful than the pictures can capture! It’s beautifully decorated and well equipped with all of the large and small appliances you need. We stayed a week and definitely thought we should have stayed longer. The home is a about a 5 minute drive from the closest little town but it’s so worth it for the peace and quiet the home offers. The beach is the backyard and the sunrise is so nice! I would definitely recommend staying here.

We loved our stay! everything about the house was amazing. The pool was really nice and big enough to take a morning swim, the air conditioning allowed us to sleep comfortably and the pictures around the house gave us a lot of amusement! Will hopefully return soon! thank you!

I’ve traveled around quite a bit, but this is definitely the most beautiful house i’ve ever seen! <3 All the details and decorations add a very special touch. You fall asleep and wake up to the sound of waves, pretty much on your private beach. An experience you can’t miss!

The most beautiful Airbnb I have ever stayed in! The artwork, decor, and high ceilings were just incredible. The house was very clean, host was always quick to respond, weather, and locals were amazing! The only small complaint, was that the internet was spotty at times, although host said they were working on getting a new provider. Thanks for everything! Highly recommend and could definitely see a return visit. Enjoy!

We rented this property the week following Easter, 2018. We look for 7 things when booking a vacation property: detached standalone house, ocean view, private pool, a/c in the bedroom, king-sized bed, wi-fi, and most importantly, PRIVACY. This property hit 6/7. Privacy was seriously lacking but I must acknowledge that when I inquired about the privacy at this house, the property manager was truthful in reporting its proximity to the neighbours, so I certainly can’t complain about not being forewarned. I appreciated their honesty and responsiveness. Additionally, at the time we booked, we didn’t realize the weeks leading up to and following Easter are a national holiday in Mexico, so the closest beach towns, Chelem and Chuburna, were heaving with vacationers. While this resulted in fun and festivity in town, it also meant the neighbouring house to the east was similarly full of happy (loud) vacationers and young (very loud) children who would frequently watch us while we enjoyed the private pool. So the private pool wasn’t private at all, and that was a huge disappointment. I put it down to bad timing - I’m certain this would have been a non-issue if the kids hadn’t been out of school for the national holiday. We were sad to leave at the end of our week because we loved the property so much. The house was super clean, and the pictures posted are entirely accurate. We loved the colorful artwork displayed throughout the house, the kitchen was fully stocked, the bed and linens were comfortable, we had lots of towels, and the A/C (quiet!) and wi-fi worked. While it’s never a priority for us, we found a few English channels on the satellite TV. The house sits behind a locked gate so we appreciated that our rental car was secure for the week. I was mildly concerned about the surcharge for electricity, but there were only two of us and we only ran the A/C in one of the bedrooms at night so our hydro use was negligible and we didn’t have to pay extra. A/C wasn’t needed during the day as a lovely breeze blows through the house when the front windows and back door are open, and we kept the ceiling fans running in the main rooms. I’m happy to see more pictures of the pool have been posted in the listing. I almost didn’t book this house because the one posted picture didn’t display how unique it is. It was my favourite part of the property. I loved that I could jump into the pool from the bedroom! And while the bridge is a cool design feature, it also came in handy as a way to shield ourselves from the watchful neighbours when we were in the pool. The house sits right on the beach with an unobstructed view of the water and the sunrises and sunsets. Beautiful! We loved sitting on the raised patio and watching the pelicans dive into the ocean. The water was clean and clear but didn’t lend itself to snorkeling. It was sunny and HOT the entire week. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect. The Super Willy’s market in Chelem (10 min drive) has the basic necessities (great buns!) and we went to Progreso for meat and dairy (30 min drive) – we shopped at Bodega Aurrera which is similar to a Costco or Sam’s Club, and Super Aki Progreso. One day we drove south past Merida to the Mayan ruins at Uxmal, which was very definitely worth the drive (approx. 90 mins). We stopped at Ceynote Kankirixche on our way back for a swim. Slaloming around the spectators lining the rickety, sloped, wet, slippery wooden staircase leading down to the water tested our fortitude! Another day we drove 60 mins east to the village of San Crisanto to take the mangrove ceynote boat tour. Local guides punt boats through the mangrove swamp to a ceynote where you can swim with landlocked tarpons. Our guide didn’t speak any English and that was okay; the peace and quiet allowed us to take in and truly enjoy the unique mangrove experience. While at the ceynote I overheard people complaining about mosquitos but we didn’t see any. We arrived in Merida on the Sat of the Easter weekend and overnighted at the Mayan Sun B&B before heading to the property on Easter Sun. I can’t recommend it heartily enough. I’m also happy to recommend Sol Salon beach house. If not for the bad timing of the national holiday, we would have had a perfect experience at this property.
